I have always been insecure about my body and the fact that I am sexually active. Growing up Chicana and in a very religious family having a list that is longer than what a "respectful" woman should have is considered indecent. It is considered un-ladylike if I love my body and is not afraid to express that with my body. I love sex AND I am a relationship kind of woman. I can be both. I can be it all. I can be a lady and I can be a freak. I can be a woman and a "Slut". I can be it all and that is okay. I am not afraid of the list of the men I have been active with. MY BODY, MY POWER!

This performance art video is one not for the weak of heart. This was created at a time when I was at my lowest. I lost someone who I considered my future and the betrayal of them hurting me changed my perspective of love. love is hoping for the best while knowing there is a chance you can fall. knowing that life happens and people change. that nothing is guaranteed. at the same time, love can change you and break you down. It is euphoric and mystical but something we can never tame. There is a downside to love, heartache. Heartache is something that everyone experiences in their life. It can be paralyzing and destructive. It can be corrosive to the soul. However, we still take the chance to love and be loved when we get our chance. Because love is worth it. Even if heartache is the reality, it is human nature to cry, feel, hope, and love. This is love and this is heartache. Audio is from my voicemails.

It pulled me out of my comfort zone and made me talk about experiences that I wouldn't have done in the first place. This rendition is a performance art video I did in 2019. It is a story about pain and having to deal with it every day emotionally and having to dig through the many layers of a mysterious pain that can not be explained. This is a small Endurance art piece. It can be triggering for some. This is a physical expression of the mysterious pain. Artist Statement: Have you ever felt pain you just couldn't explain? it was not medical or physical but an emotional pain that would not go away. Something you felt in the depth of your soul and sometimes you wish you could show it so someone would believe you. A feeling that consumed you and took over your life. The pain of losing someone or many things and all you can do is live with it. Having to take every day and emotionally figure out the pain. Journaling, therapy, and activities to keep the pain away. A mysterious pain that would not go away, a mysterious pain that you live with every day, A mysterious pain that would not go away. Have you?
